Cameron’s well tending team (well pumpers) travel to each well to turn them on and off.  Well tenders record how long wells pump; they maintain well locations and look for environmental problems like plugged road culverts.  They perform routine well maintenance such as lubricating pumping jacks, and they report wells that require more major service.   

Cameron has several “service” teams (2 or 3 man crews) who operate service rigs to pull pipe out of wells to repair downhole problems, such as worn out pumps or broken rods.  Cameron also has a roustabout team to fix above-ground problems such as downed electric lines, plugged culverts and broken motors.  

Cameron usually drills several new wells every year in order to offset depletion (the decline in production) from older wells.  Cameron has its own drilling rig as well as service rigs to complete each new well. 

Cameron believes it is the responsibility of every conventional oil and gas operator to plug old wells that are no longer productive.  Plugging a well involves removing the old equipment and filling the hole with cement to insure that oil and gas do not contaminate the water and air we all use and that we should all care for.  Every year, Cameron makes certain that it plugs more wells than it drills.  Cameron also volunteers its plugging equipment and staff to plug “orphan wells” (wells that were abandoned decades or a century ago and that now belong to the state).  Cameron has participated in several volunteer plugging projects at the request of the state and the Allegheny National Forest.  

Our office manages everything from payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, to state reporting, maintaining well records, and managing our fleet of vehicles.

Cameron maintains a sizeable fleet of pickup trucks for its roustabout and service rig crews and its well tenders.  Cameron also maintains many service rigs, bulldozers, excavators, dump trucks and other items of equipment.  Our shop maintains Cameron’s vehicles and equipment and fabricates many of the unique tools and parts that are used in the conventional oil and gas business.
